This weekend kicks off what’s shaping up to be one of the better ones of the summer. It’s Your Festival takes over Gage Park from Friday through the long weekend, NE-YO and AKON are bringing the nostalgia to TD Coliseum on Friday night, and Canada Day falls on Wednesday — so there’s plenty of reason to stretch the celebrating. Here’s what’s worth your time.

Catch NE-YO and AKON at TD Coliseum Friday Night

Friday, June 27 · 8:00 p.m. · TD Coliseum, 101 York Blvd · Tickets required

Two icons, one stage, twenty years of hits. NE-YO and AKON are bringing their Nights Like This tour to Hamilton this Friday, and it’s the kind of show where you’ll know every word to every song. Think “So Sick,” “In My Head,” “Lonely,” “Smack That” — a full night of R&B nostalgia done right. Grab your people and make a night of it.

Spend the Weekend at It’s Your Festival in Gage Park

Friday, June 27 – Tuesday, July 1 · Gage Park, 1000 Main St E · Free

It’s Your Festival returns to Gage Park with a long weekend’s worth of live music, art, food, and entertainment for all ages. This is Hamilton’s signature warm-weather gathering — the kind of thing you drop into for an hour and end up staying three. Saturday and Sunday are your sweet spots if you want the full energy without the Tuesday crowds.

Hit the Hamilton Farmers’ Market Strawberry Festival Saturday Morning

Saturday, June 27 · 10:00 a.m. · Hamilton Farmers’ Market, 35 York Blvd · Free

Strawberry season doesn’t last forever, and the Hamilton Farmers’ Market is making the most of it. The Strawberry Festival features sweet treats, live music from the Lone Rhubarbarian, and a crafting activity from Rivers and Meadows. It’s a great way to start Saturday before heading over to Gage Park — the two are an easy walk apart.

Bring Your Houseplants (and Yourself) to Grain & Grit Sunday

Sunday, June 28 · 12:00–4:00 p.m. · Grain & Grit Brewery, 245 Ottawa St N · Free to attend

The Pints & Plants Repotting Pop-up at Grain & Grit is exactly what it sounds like: bring a houseplant, get it repotted by someone who knows what they’re doing, and spend the afternoon with a cold one and good company. It’s laid-back, a little offbeat, and genuinely useful — your plant and your Sunday will both be better for it.
