Help Us Tell Hamilton’s Stories
We’re Hamilton’s fastest-growing local media brand, and we’re looking for Hamiltonians who love getting out into the city — and want to get paid a bit to do more of it.
What we’re hiring for
We’re bringing on a contributor (or two) to help us cover Hamilton on the ground. That means visiting local businesses, hitting the trails, exploring neighbourhoods, and capturing what you find — observations, recommendations, photos, the details a quick visit would miss.
You don’t need to be a writer. We’ll handle turning your notes into a polished piece. What we need is someone with good instincts, a real love for the city, and the willingness to actually go out and experience things.
It starts as a paid trial — one afternoon’s worth of work to see how we click. If it goes well, there’s an ongoing role waiting, with steady paid assignments built around your schedule.
What you’d be doing
- Visiting and reviewing local businesses, cafés, and restaurants
- Exploring Hamilton’s hikes, trails, and waterfalls for our guides
- Checking out neighbourhoods and capturing what makes each one tick
- Taking photos along the way — phone photos are totally fine
- Sending us your notes using a simple template we provide
What we’re looking for
- A real love for Hamilton and a knack for noticing what others miss
- Reliable, easy to work with, can turn assignments around on time
- Comfortable taking photos on your phone while you’re out
- Honest opinions — if something’s overrated, we want to hear it
- Bonus points if you’ve got a good eye, a good camera, or strong writing — but none are required
