Well, we visited the newest fun family activity in the area today — SUSO Skate Co., located in Mapleview Mall, Burlington.
We’ve been excited to visit since we found their social media page. After a long wait dealing with permits with the City of Burlington, they are officially open for business.
The cost was roughly $70 for 3 people for an hour, which includes skate rentals and protective gear.
As soon as the skates touched my feet, my memories started coming back from Roller Gardens back in the day in Hamilton, Ontario. There’s lots of room to practice before taking the big dive into the skating arena, which was very helpful since I hadn’t skated in over 25 years.
Eventually, I got into my groove and did roughly 30 laps, which destroyed me — it was a fantastic workout!

Make sure to book in advance since it’s a very popular spot.
Did you know? Roller skating was invented in the 1760s in London, England, by Belgian inventor and musical instrument maker John Joseph Merlin. Merlin designed early inline-style skates with small metal wheels, which he notoriously demonstrated by crashing into a mirror at a masquerade party.

🔨 The Verdict
Overall, it was such a great experience — I recommend everyone check it out. They have a 1-year lease with the mall, so lots of time to bring back your childhood.
